Sotai is a Japanese style of bodywork developed by Dr. Keizo Hashimoto (1897-1993). Sotai uses movement therapy, in conjunction with breath, to restore structural balance in the body. Essentially, sotai re-educates the body and unwinds neuromuscular holding patterns. It is effective at treating musculoskeletal pain and tension while calming the nervous system. Sotai “homework” is often given to patients to accelerate the healing process and provide relief at home.
